About the Program

In Uganda, education services and materials have never been equally distributed amongst schools, communities and regions. The country still grapples with crowded classrooms with learners sitting on floors of make shift structures. Schools and educational institutions are often without sufficient learning materials and teachers.

Many lack reading and writing skills and thus often can't use opportunities to improve their lives.

Despite numerous efforts and interventions by the government and other organizations, there is simply not enough of everything available to realize the right to education. Worse still, most children and learners leave schools half literate and without skills of basic education like numeracy.

This program primarily targets those that are not able to read and write. It's designed with a participatory approach so that participants/learners not only learn to read and write and have numeric skills, but also discover their environment and are able to survive. You will conduct appropriate level of instruction for adult students in the areas of basic Education, English as a Second Language, and General Education Development (GED).
