After School Program

Mawulolo Youth Network is currently providing after school services for over 100 children ranging from 5 to 13 years old.

Mawulolo Youth Network offers academic and recreational programs for children from the Christian Village, Accra, Ghana. Providing our programs in a fun and engaging environment is MYN’s highest priority.  We work closely with the children, community and families in order to deliver the most effective education, physical fitness, and life skill programs to meet their needs. We thrive at challenging our children and make their learning fun while maintaining a close teacher-student relationship. Volunteer teachers emphasize on enhancing children’s English, math,I.C.T, science, writing, and have a chance to cultivate arts, sports, and dance skills. Mawulolo Youth Network utilizes volunteers to help teach the classes and help them with their skills.

Our after school program is solely organized and taught by volunteers from Ghana and all over the world. It is a great chance for volunteers to gain valuable experience working with children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and expand their classroom management, children interaction, and curriculum development skills.

Aside from the after school program offered by Mawulolo Youth Network, other programs are available as well. These programs include a Feeding Program, Kids Day Out, Medikids (Medical Screenings), and Back to School Giveaways. At the Feeding Program, a delicious meal is provided to each child in the program. The Kids Day Out program is to bring all the kids together to have fun, play different kind of games, do face painting, and bounce in a bouncing castle, and give them snacks. The Medikids Program provides the children of the Christian Village community with free medical screenings, along with information on how to get the treatment they needed once they received diagnoses. The Back to School Giveaways consists of donors contributing school supplies and monetary gifts used to purchase school supplies. These school supplies are then distributed each September, before the start of the school year.

Mawulolo Youth Network is doing so much for these children who are living in poverty and otherwise would not have the means for proper educational, medicine, and nutritional needs.

Cultural exchange

MYN is offering a cultural exchange program for the students who are a part of MYN as well as students in other parts of the world. This cultural exchange program will allow the students of MYN to gain an enriching knowledge about the different cultures throughout the world and allows others around the world to gain knowledge about the culture of Ghana through different activities and encounters with the MYN community.

Language is an important part of the exchange program at MYN. The Language portion of the program allows the students to be able to learn many different that are spoken in different areas of the world. Language is a valuable skill that is helpful in different areas in life, so offering the children the ability to learn foreign languages will be very beneficial to them throughout their lifetimes. They are given the opportunity to learn different languages such as French, Spanish, German, Dutch, and more.

Volunteers are encouraged to share their skills in the field of Music & Dance, Arts, Hand Crafts, Sport coaching, or whatever it may be! Yoga and Counselling.
