Assistant for Orphans&vulnerable Children

Feeding orphans, bereavement/psychological counselling, education support, recreational activities, trainings them in computer basics

The work involves feeding orphan-Provisional of dietary foods while at the projects, helping prepare the meals for the kids and serving them the food.

Bereavement/psychological counseling- Offering support after their parent death, close monitoring and engagements in self development activities

Education support- Helping them get to school, finding them a sponsor to support their educational needs

Recreational activities (games- football, net ball, leg ball, basketball, running, races, drawing, arts, and music),

Training of care givers in HIV prevention and home based care- empowering the guardians who stays with the orphans with health information to enable provide good care for the orphans as well as take them for a health checkups and medication to boost their health status and immunity.

Training them in basic computer skills-To enable them understand computer, use of Microsoft office applications  ie Introduction to computer, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Outlook, Email and internet.

Free-time activities

During free time volunteer can engage in home visits of the school pupils, recreational activities, like playing games, hiking the nearest hills, running sack races, visiting Kakamega rainforest on long weekend, going for a boat ride in lake Victoria, visiting Kisumu museum, going shopping and access to fast internet services in Kisumu City which is 30 kilometres from our project location of which here volunteers can join music concerts for the night, go for safari tour in Maasai Mara National Reserve, tour lake Nakuru National Park, climbing mount Longonot, bike tour in Hell's Gate National Park.

What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.

No worries, Volunteer World supports you in raising funds, checking your visa regulations and travel insurance. We also assist you in finding the cheapest flights for your journey.

It’s located near the organization office and you will stay with a member of KCEP, you receive your own separate room, bathroom is outside the house. The house is permanent with electricity supply and water available on the tank.

You can volunteer at the project site in Luanda/Kenya between 4 weeks and 48 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. Kipepeo Community Empowerment will tell you your final price during your application process.
Average Fees
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Kipepeo Community Empowerment during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
