There are always projects on the go which need finishing or urgently starting. Volunteers have built toilets for the Obomeng-Presby primary school, a playground, painted classrooms and library. Soil erosion and the draining away of valuable water on crops is a constant challenge. Volunteers have worked to limit this with irrigation systems, planted trees (in the rainy season), dug ditches and built protective barriers for crops.
This was achieved by volunteers from Germany who built a library from scratch in just 5 days!
If you’re building please try and raise some money from home since there is no local funding available so everything which has been built
so far has come mostly from volunteers generously financing projects.
There is an urgent need for the completion of a urinal in the Obomeng-Presby primary and Junior High School.volunteers will be pursuing the building project with other volunteers every morning until the appointed time of closing for the project day.
All building materials are available to purchase from a retail construction/hardware shop in the municipal capital Mpraeso-kwahu.
Your volunteer program officers will be your first point of contact and will assist
with immediate day to day support whilst you are on the project.
Alternately, there is always a coordinator, who you can contact via
telephone if you need anything. They can help you with anything you are
worried about or generally need help with. Anyone ill or needing hospital treatment
will be escorted with the Kwahu Care Ambulance to the district hospital at Atibie-kwahu .
Volunteer project bus will always be available to carry volunteers back to their volunteer house after the hard days work.Personal access to taxi is available at the beck and call of volunteers.
The kwahu-south district have a lot of tourist attraction like paragliding, walkway, bruku rocks ,waterfall and others. The volunteer team also will provide volunteers with a package which is directed towards all the tourism environment in ghana. Our tour guides will be available to assist volunteers with security on tour journey within the Volunteering district and beyond.
