Business Plan Development

Bamenda, Cameroon show on map
Develop a business plan for a vocational rehabilitation center (GLOWA Haus) to benefit victims and survivors of child trafficking. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Singles

The Volunteer task is to design a Business Plan for GLOWA Haus. GLOWA Haus is a rescue home under development by GLOWA in response to the demand for a sustainable and complete victims rehabilitation and survivor support scheme in Cameroon. Still at its development stage, the project is in dire need of volunteer to write a business plan and mentor GLOWA through a fund raising process for its implementation.
GLOWA Haus is kick-starting its operations with sewing and shoe-making center that shall also serve as a professional training center for rescued victims. For sustainability purposes, the project is designed to be a social enterprise that will produce and market a made-by-survivor brand in Cameroon and abroad. It shall engage trainees in community service and counter trafficking education as part of community reintegration process.  The project is a great opportunity for volunteers especially graduate Business students to write their thesis or term paper on a real life project that is contributing to solving the global problem of child trafficking and exploitation.
The business plan Volunteers could also help design the internal procedures of GLOWA Haus, including job description, develop a filling system, case management protocol and any other tasks. S/he shall work five days a week (Mondays through Fridays), having weekends off. Just like Cameroon is considered as all of Africa in one country so is the North West Region (project area) considered as all of Cameroon in one region and offers enormous tourism opportunities. There is a Gorilla sanctuary just 10 miles from the city of Bamenda.

GLOWA has a ready and committed team comprising of empowered survivors, trainees, religious authorities and social workers that will work with the volunteer throughout the program. We shall also negotiate accommodation for volunteers within a family setting with adequate security.
GLOWA Haus is located in the North West Region that is one of the most economically marginalized in Cameroon. With no industries and the highest HIV/AIDS prevalence rate in the country, there is a resulting high orphan population that constitute the vulnerable population.
When victims grow older to resist exploitation or become aware through NGO activities, most of them embrace survival sex work as a way of earning a living.
The business plan will enable GLOWA to produce and market a made-by-survivor products and further develop as a hybrid organization.
The volunteer shall work with a the team at GLOWA that comprises of Empowered Survivors, victims-in-training, religious and government officials. The program offers a volunteer the unique opportunity to have first hand contact with victims and survivors of child trafficking and also get to touch of the Cameroon Traditional embroidery that GLOWA Haus hopes to produce and market.
GLOWA Haus aspires to establish partnerships with educational establishment, hotels, security companies etc for the production of their uniforms. Once production reaches an acceptable level, we hope to produce our own Apps and work with online marketing platforms for inline marketing.
Excess profits from GLOWA Haus shall be used to establish a start-up grant scheme to support small business initiates of trained survivors who shall use our established networks to market their products without charges.
