The project

Santiago is known as one of the most modern cities in South America, even though some of the population in Chile have extreme wealth, a significant portion is still considered in poverty or as homeless which is still a problem in Chile. This organization aims to improve people suffering in poverty or homeless with big and small contributions each day. 

In this volunteer program you will be supporting a Chilean organization which is dedicated to helping out people who live on the streets of Chile. The charity was founded in 1977 it runs a total of five projects which all try to combat poverty in the area. In the homeless project nearly 100 people are cared for, many of these have been homeless for a number of years without a roof over their head. 


Your work

To work on this project there are no special skills required you should be a dedicated individual who is able to take responsibilities and to work independently. You will be in contact with people with extreme life situations in circumstances you can not imagine. 

On a day to day basis your tasks may include: Creating and updating the register for the homeless, accompany workers on daily walks, make contact with homeless people and collect their history.

You can volunteer at the project site in Santiago de Chile/Chile between 4 weeks and 25 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. South America Inside will tell you your final price during your application process.
Average Fees
$52/week
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with South America Inside during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
