The project

This project was founded in 2010 with its main objective to rescue, rehabilitate and find new homes for stray cats in Santiago. Unfortunately, in Chile, and much of Latin America, animal lives are not given as much value as in some industrialized countries. The idea of neutering pets is seriously lacking, and it is with this type of education diffusion that the organization hopes to improve animal welfare in Chile. The focus of this project is cats, so cat lovers will greatly enjoy being able to offer kindness and attention to many cats, their are always many adoption events for the cats that are card for which is around 200.

Most of the cats are rescued from the streets and some others which have lived in dangerous conditions by citizens. A number of cats that arrive are pregnant and need a safe environment where they can give birth and where they can be fed and well treated. Once the cats are in the shelter they are treated of any illnesses or injuries, they are then fed and bathed.

The program operates from donations so fundraisers are very important with nearly all of the goods provided to the cats are donated from good known brands.

Your work

Without the help of volunteers this project would not exist this is because they are always in need of help and this is one of very few programs just for cats as most are for dogs.

You will have the chance to work actively with all types of cats, and improve their living conditions, and, if you have veterinary experience or additional experience working with domestic animals, you can also assist with giving them medication

On a typical working day you will:

  • feed the cats,
  • maintain the building,
  • assist vets,
  • print and assist in social media and marketing tasks,
  • raise awareness,
