Our building projects really allow volunteers to be immersed in the host community. Volunteers work with locals to make sure these projects get completed and match the needs of the people they’re benefitting. You may find that the way you’re used to working on building projects back home can be very different from this experience; the materials used are often a bit more simple and there can be limited tools for construction. Additionally, work schedules are not always the same as you might imagine them to be in Europe or America, so get ready to test your cross-cultural knowledge!
As a volunteer you will help at the construction site, carrying concrete, assist carpenters with their work or over watch the building process. You can contribute your skills if you have for example a talent with wood-work or knowledge in a certain field.
Ghana has so much to offer to volunteers, with its rich culture, festivals, food, art & craft centers, castles & forts, long sandy beaches, national parks, waterfalls, rain forest and other interesting places to visit.

You can choose to stay with a local host family or stay in our volunteer house. It depends on the location where you want to be placed. Our main location is the volunteer house in Accra, where you will be living with around 16 other volunteers from all over the world. We have four bedrooms with two bunk beds each and two shared bathrooms. The volunteer house is located in a very safe area in Ghana.
We have a cook in the volunteer house who prepares three meals a day for all the volunteers. We will prepare special food for you, if you have to follow a special diet. The food is mostly western, but we also offer local dishes to our volunteers. If you are placed in a host family you might have more local dishes.
