Cooking Volunteering

As a volunteer, you will experience traditional life and participate in daily activities, such as cooking over an open fire.

Volunteers are an important part of the healing that happens at Cook Children's. Volunteers make a difference for childrens and families every day through the gift of their time, energy, and talents.Mostly help in cooking.

What you do as a volunteer;

  • Connect with a network of peers who share your passion for healthy food and community service
  • Share your expertise in hands-on settings - the kitchen and the grocery store.
  • Learn from the incredible families who participate in Cooking Matters.
  • Draw from and contribute to a collection of chef-developed recipes which prove that healthy food can be delicious.
  • Want to come back (98% of volunteers are willing to teach another course).

Free-time activities

Kenya holds a huge population from different tribes. Kenya has 42 tribes and the same ethnic languages. All the 42 tribes come to Nairobi to look for jobs, do business, and also get academics besides others and this is because is the center for many things.
-In Nairobi we have: a giraffe center, a snake park, elephant orphanage, mamba village [crocodile], national museums of Kenya, Bomas of Kenya [cultural dancers] and many other parks in the city. It's a city which is cool next to Ngong forest with warm and sometimes cool climate.
Volunteers can opt to visit all these areas and also generally, in Kenya we are the best tourist destination in Africa with a lot of historic sites
-Mombasa coastal beaches,
-Climbing mountains e.g mt Kilimanjaro-tallest in Africa and Mt Kenya-Tallest in Kenya.
-Masai mara national park,
-Amboseli national park,
-Tsavo national park,
-Naivasha national park,
-Nakuru national park,
-14 falls in Kenya
All these are nice places which attracts a lot of people in Kenya and volunteers can choose to visit these places after their volunteering period , before , or during weekends and we organize safaris for them.

You can volunteer at the project site in NAIROBI/Kenya between 1 weeks and 50 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. Agape Academy will tell you your final price during your application process.
Average Fees
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Agape Academy during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
