The project

In Peru, malnourishment, poor health conditions and high infant mortality rates are still widespread, above all in rural areas.

In your role as a volunteer you will support a child minder in her daily work at the centre. The child minder is in charge of up to eight children ranging from the ages of 6 months - 3 years. In these centres children are cared for and also enhanced to their psychological, physical and social development.

Thanks to the childminders parents are able to work full time in order to support their families and have enough money to clothe and feed them.

Volunteers must be aware that they will be in direct contact with difficult family situations. On this project the work is very fulfilling as you will be able to see the difference you are making and see the happiness you give to children just from a hug.
