Wal-Mark Safaris Needy Scheme project "Educate an African Child in Uganda" is Collaborating with working with
Four Schools One Kindergarten & Primary schools, Two Secondary school and One Tertiary Institute targeting the under privileged children and orphan.Focus is teaching in selected subjects with lessons often taking 1-2hours a day in classrooms.
Most rural schools are less competitive with urban and Peri-urban schools due to poor and less competent teaching staff and have limited resources to attract good teachers besides access better scholastic educational material such as reading books and teaching aids alike. Yet such a child is expected to join the rest of the world to competent for job opportunities.
Kindergarten schools learn half day 8:00 - 12:00 noon, while primary and secondary level learn schedule is 8:00 am to 3:30pm. The required staff support will be coordinated with the head of subjects often with merging of Volunteer staff and local staff so that your supported in understanding the normal routine and pupils/students in the classes attached. Lunch is often served at school with other teachers but Dinner will be at your place residence during your stay with a servant to ensure your meals are well prepared and other household needs are in order.
There are often some physical education sports activities for the pupil and your free to be supportive during the selected lesson periods and with games after classes and possibly Music/dance and drummer events. If you have interest in these then you can be resourceful since "work without Play makes John a Dull Boy".
Lessons run Monday to Friday while Saturday and Sunday are resting days where the Volunteer staff can be engaged in other outdoor activities, like visiting places, museums, church activities, safaris and sight seeing depending on your wish list but Wal-Mark Africa Safaris will be at your disposal to ensure your stay is much comfortable and enjoyable.
There are various adventures to keep you occupied during your free time, water games such as Bungee jump, swimming, kayaking, boat cruise, fishing on the River Nile or Lake Victoria, Concerts/music at the cinema's or Clubs, drama/plays can be enjoyed at various Museums and Theatres with ease, safaris, riding are all available and Wal-Mark Africa Safaris can make all the necessary arrangements though at a few which are not extreme budgets to worry about. Religious engagements and fellowship is also available but we need prior notification to guide us in your placement for convenience.
Entebbe Airport to the Volunteer stations either Mpigi, Jinja or Iganga takes 1Hour drive to connect from the Airport to Kampala city due to Traffic and time of arrival
