Elephant and Animal Volunteer

Volunteer with elephants and rescued animals. Help with general husbandry e.g. Cleaning enclosures/night areas, preparing food, bathing Etc

Our program involves a lot of walking and hiking, some lifting and strenuous activities. A moderate level of fitness is required. We also ask volunteers to come with an open mind and without expectations as we are located in Rural Thailand, it is a very different way of living and everything works on Thai time.
Must have a love for all animals including cats and dogs. 
We do NOT accept children under the age of 10 and all Children aged between 10-17 MUST be accompanied by an adult/guardian. We have zero tolerance for illicit drugs and allow the consumption of alcohol if the person is of age in their own country. All volunteers are expected to listen to instruction, policy and procedure explained at orientation. Failure to listen and follow policy and procedure will have those removed from the sanctuary immediately without refund.

Volunteer program chores include: 
-Walking with the elephants in the jungle/river -helping with the general care and husbandry of the elephants and  rescued animals (e.g. cleaning animals, elephant night areas, cutting grass, banana trees and corn for elephant night feeds, helping feed cats and dogs, bathing and grooming, etc.
Other activities may include: Teaching english in local school and village. Planting trees and grass, clean up days with the village kids, etc.

Free-time activities

When not working on the project, volunteers have the opportunity to relax onsite, in their homestay or go on an out of project, sight seeing on an activity day. All activities can be discussed and organized with our staff. These expenses are not covered in program fee.

You can volunteer at the project site in Maechaem, Chiang Mai/Thailand between 1 weeks and 8 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. BEES Elephant Sanctuary will tell you your final price during your application process.
Average Fees
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with BEES Elephant Sanctuary during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
