English Teacher for Hill Tribe Children

Provide participants a meaningful program combined with ecological tourism, enabling hill tribe people to take full advantage of employment.

About the Program

We are is a non-government, non-profit organization in Vietnam with a mission to build global community events through local environmental and community services.

As the first local Non-Government volunteer organization in Vietnam with official status to have volunteer programs, we provides opportunities that make a difference to the lives of people from all parts of the world. The organization also works to setup sustainable projects to protect the environment, provide career skills education services for vulnerable groups, encourage community development and cultural exchange.

V4D is managed by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) with the support of Youth in Action program of European Commission in capacity building, and CCIVS (Co-ordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service) in the volunteer management.

With a deep belief that education is fundamental to human progress, enabling individuals and communities to acquire skills and knowledge, essential for improving their quality of life. But for disadvantaged youth their access to education is limited.

We are carrying out this program to give the hill tribe opportunities to see the bigger picture of life, to realize their own potential, and to help them address the increasing global social, economic and environmental challenges we face.

You as a volunteer will be organizing English and life skills lessons for the hill tribe children and thus contributing to their educational and personal development

The villages, activities, vulnerable groups, visiting place & homestay accommodation have been carefully chosen through a rigorous selection process, ensuring you have a great opportunity to share your talents, creativity, and compassion.

Work Surroundings

Located 320km to the north of Hanoi on the border with China, In many traveler’s eye, Ha Giang is the most attractive destination in the country, with the rocky plateau at Dong Van, the love market at Khau Vai, Heaven's Gate over the Quan Ba Pass and the friendly, colourful ethnic groups. Ha Giang province is the last to open to tourism and offers some of the most striking sceneries in Vietnam. Virgin forests, natural fortress mountains sculpted into terraces, rock formations plateaus split by breathtaking canyons. These majestic landscapes shelter the largest diversity of ethnic minorities in Vietnam.

Where keep pure landscapes and cultures than Sapa so you can explore the real life and natural landscapes in Ethnic minorities in Ha Giang like H'mong people. The area did not feel at all “touristy”. In that way it is entirely unlike Sapa. There is also virtually nothing to buy and no one is selling anything to tourists (unlike Sapa)We are highly recommended and please visit it before it becomes too popular! Every corner of the province is worth spending time to visit.
