The project

This organization was founded in 2004 with the main objective being to protect and maintain the forests and integrate local communities into the project. The organization continues to develop many different protection programs of plants and animals, with one of its major projects being to protect the Chilean Huemel which is a rare species of deer. In the last 10 years the number of huemels has growen from 2 to 15 in the area. 

The project also runs a very successful eco hotel which attracts a host of tourists from all over the world. There are around 40 employees in the organization between 19 and 45 years old with mainly local people working there. 

The project has also been given international recognation from the famous World Legacy Awards of the National Geographic rewarded the project’s achievements with the first place in 2015 among 150 destinations in 56 countries.


Your work

Volunteers are very important to this project because they are needed to assist in guiding tourists, to educate local people on the importance of conservation and to help with the endangerd deers. 

There are many different tasks for workers to be involved in, on a typical day you will be: helping in the organic gardens, reforestation work, educational program with guests and local people, helping the staff at the breeding station (just possible for maleparticipants who stay at least 2 month).

For people with less strength there are tasks such as: helping in the cafeteria, assisting as tour guides, marketing and developing international relations tasks.

Airport Pickup

Airport pick up in Santiago and transfer to our office or accomodation in Santiago, before you continue your travel to the project.

Accommodation

Volunteers will live in the volunteer house close to the village Neltume. The volunteer house has dormitories and is equipped with a kitchen and bathrooms, there is wifi but it can sometimes go off. This is a great experience to meet new people and friends

You can volunteer at the project site in Neltume/Chile between 4 weeks and 25 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. South America Inside will tell you your final price during your application process.
Average Fees
$67/week
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with South America Inside during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
