Fundraising to Support Young Children

Volunteers coordinate all types of fundraising for the construction of an Early Child Development Center for children aged 3 to 5 years in Santa.

Activities are likely to include some or all of the following:

  • Participate in developing fundraising strategies.
  • Raise income and coordinate our fundraising and reporting.
  • Assist all teams in planning, writing and editing funding proposals.
  • Participate in developing and improving the effectiveness of the organization-wide oversight, monitoring and coordination of fundraising and reporting.
  • Help improve program team’s fundraising skills, capacities and systems.
  • Managing strong strategic relations with Donors
  • Develop and deepen existing donor relationships, ensuring that the organization maintains effective communications and good relations with our donor partners, ensuring they are updated on our work and achievements.
  • Be responsible for the fundraising budget.
  • Produce up-to-date reports for staff, management and the Board.
  • Keep the fundraising section of our website up to date.
  • Assist in organizing fundraising events.

Typical day

Research and partnership creation. The volunteer will have the general role of identifying, contacting and working with potential donors/funders for our projects, drafting and writing project proposals and following up the organisation’s financial credibility. We are searching for a volunteer that will setup a fundraising strategy for CADFIN Cameroon. On the short term, for specific projects and campaigns, but also and mainly on the long term. 

Free-time activities

If Volunteers want to relax, they can watch TV, video and a selection of movies, plus books, music and a limited selection of board games in the communal recreation area. If they want to get active, there is volleyball, football and table tennis.

Additionally there are several small mountains lightly rugged in nature they can visit. They can do mountain climbing and hiking. There are also lakes and waterfalls to visit for those less adventurous in nature. There are also a lot of Fulani's around who rent out horses. They can also go out riding in the evenings.


Program Requirements

In order to join the program you need to be at least 20 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s). Of course, there is an exception for children that are accompanied by their parents.

The following are expected program expenses: airport pickup and drop off, food and drink, accommodation and recreation.

Airport Pickup at Douala Airport

The pick up point is the Douala or Yaounde International Airports depending on the arrival site. Douala Airport is about 420KM (7 hours drive) while Yaounde is 380KM (6 hours drive) to the project site.


Shared apartment with single bedroom per person of 3x4m with an internal kitchen and bathrooms.

Food & Beverages

The traditional large, one-course morning, afternoon and evening meal is common throughout Cameroon. A typical dish consists of rice, couscous or mashed potato and is generally served with a sauce, soup, or stew made from greens, groundnuts or palm oil. For Drinks we have
Water, palm wine, and millet beer are the traditional mealtime drinks. Some restaurants cuisines are easily available where they can get continental dishes. The country side abounds in avocado pears, manoic/cassava leaves, citrus fruits, pineapples and mangoes.

Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Douala Airport (DLA) in Douala. We assist you to find cheap flights to Cameroon.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Cameroon provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Cameroon you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Cameroon.

Average fees

You can volunteer at the project site in Bamenda/Cameroon between 50 weeks and 50 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. Child Aid Cameroon (CADFIN) will let you know about the final price during your application process.
Crowdfunding Service
Generally, volunteering abroad involves certain costs. In case you need financial support, we will assist you to fundraise your volunteer program in Cameroon.
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Child Aid Cameroon (CADFIN) during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
