The Volunteer will be immersed into the organization as a field staff and will support in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project activities.

The volunteer will be immersed into the organization as a staff. She or he will make trips to the project communities, monitor, evaluate and document project impacts. The volunteer shall assist in the planning and review meetings of the organization, develop project proposals and also do fundraising for projects.  The volunteer will be able to travel into communities and experience first hand exciting cultural realities in a typical traditional African setting. She or he  will propose organizational development strategies and growth plans. She or he shall represent the organization in meetings and initiate partnerships both locally, nationally and internationally that are beneficial to the organization. She or he will organize advocacy events both in the communities and over radios on social issues affecting beneficiaries.

Typical day

The volunteer shall have 3 days for field work visiting project communities and beneficiaries, monitor and evaluate project activities, capture successes induced by the project intervention and propose innovations to improve on the project strategy and results. Office work will go for two days during which we will do review and planning, document project results, and impacts into reports and documentaries. Daily the volunteer will have 1 hour break either between 12:00noon and 2:00 pm. During weekends, volunteer will be accompanied to visit touristic sites for distractions.The volunteer will be able to travel into communities and experience first hand exciting cultural realities in a typical traditional African setting.

Free-time activities

Volunteers will have time to socialize and interact with community persons. They will visit important touristic sites, spend time relaxing in cabarets, should the need arise. They volunteers will visit historical Museums of Fon's palaces in the region. On week ends especially Saturdays they will go for sports, swimming, riding horses on hills with the Nomadic Fulani race. They are several swimming pools around the city and lakes that the volunteers will visit. On sundays they volunteer will have the opportunity if Christians to go to fellowship on with other worshipers and can create friends with the brethren. The volunteers can take week end travels to other regions of the country to visit and experience city and country life, while also experiencing the beautiful country side and touristic displays. The culture is good and people are very welcoming. Project communities are so very close into the heart of the community and there are so many artifacts that the volunteers can join the community persons to work on. There are very renowned kingdoms with many artifacts that the volunteers will be able to see and to meet with traditional rulers in these palaces. Volunteers will experience buying from the market and having to bargain prices for their needs. The pleasure in the volunteering activity is worth the engagement given the context and people they will encounter in the field and in their day to day life.

Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Sustain Cameroon during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
