Youth Crime Watch of Liberia is in search of Grant Manager to identify funding opportunities and securing grant funds.

The  Grant Manager is responsible for managing a team of grant writers in order to research and apply for funding opportunities for Youth Crime Watch of Liberia (YCWL). In this capacity, the Grant Manager will ensure that funding proposals are completed and submitted to the granting organization within the time frame indicated on the proposal/application. Grant Manager will also help shape the overall development strategy of the organisation and driving forward new initiatives to ensure long terms sustainability. Leading an established team your initiative, creativity and management skills will ensure the success of the ambitious plans for fundraising growth.


This position is focused on online fundraising and will have set financial goals for income improvement and engagement. Applicants need to have a strong background in both non-profit special event fundraising and online communications. This person will provide leadership in the development of an effective multi-faceted development strategy to achieve online fundraising goals. 

Typical day

Determine YCWL needs and work with department managers to research and apply for   funding opportunities;

• Prepare proposals and grant applications in the time period indicated on the grant   guidance/proposal.

• Ensure all documents are true and factual;

• Supports the development of strategic partnerships with business and industry, educational institutions, economic development and community-based agencies; facilitates external partnership meetings; leads partnership development activities; negotiates roles, duties and contributions; drafts agreements, subcontracts and other documents.

• Create and finalize all aspects of the grant application including the budget, letters, reports and etc;

• Evaluates requests for funding opportunities, researches supporting data and best practices; analyzes funding agency’s requirements and anticipates the organization’s competitive position for each opportunity.  

• Maintain calendar to ensure timely submission of grant proposals, applications, letters and reports;

• Prioritize and assign projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines and manage supplemental materials;

• Serve as the subject matter expert on all items related to grants;

• Assist in developing presentations for various stakeholders

• Writes and edits grant proposals; researches institutional and funding agency policies to ensure proposed activities and budgets are in accordance with the organization’s policies and funding agency’s requirements.

Our Program is all year round. volunteers/interns will be picked up from the airport to the guest house based on their flights schedule

Program Requirements

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

Airport Pickup at Roberts International Airport

Accommodation

Experience Liberia will arrange for a homestay experience with a host family that can provide a highly secure environment with a private room, furnishings and access to water, a bathroom, a kitchen, fan and a mosquito net, however you are more than welcome to bring a mosquito net for your bed although usually not necessary.  volunteers/interns will share rooms with other international volunteers at our private guest house.                                      

The guest house has a cook, caretaker, electricity and security. Utilities include cooking stove, icebox, sitting room, and electric fans in all rooms. Local cooks prepare the food at the guesthouse under the close supervision of the International Staff Coordinator (ISC). Meals are provided twice a day: lunch midday (12pm-1pm) and Food for Dinner. There is a provision to arrange with the Cook or Guest Caretaker, to get breakfast materials ready; guests are encouraged to prepare their own breakfast.

The art of hand washing

 The Guest House Caretaker will help the international Staff with his/her laundry, and sometimes teach them the art of hand washing.

Food & Beverages

During your time here, 2 daily meals will be provided. Meals mainly consist of rice, chicken, beef, bread, eggs, soup, potatoes, oats, fruits, fish, pasta and many fresh ingredients. Also featured will be torborgee, potatoes leaves, beans, cassava leaves and palm butter served alongside, as per being Liberian traditional foods. It is also easy to find familiar Western-style dishes from the supermarket, restaurants and market places around the guest house or in cities. Clean, treated, safe water will be provided to all volunteers /interns

The nearest airport is Roberts International Airport (ROB) in Monrovia. We assist you to find cheap flights to Liberia.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Liberia provides security and is a plus to have.

Crowdfunding Service

Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with {project.name} during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
