Health Care Supporter

Work hand in hand with our medical workers in a health centre.

Medical Program is dedicated to supporting health care in here and is an ideal way to contribute to health delivery. In Kenya, efforts are underway to improve the health sector, especially the health of women and children. High importance is placed on improving the quality of reproductive health services, and on preventing or reducing the impact of widespread communicable diseases.

We have medical and dental projects which are aimed at increasing access to basic healthcare for rural people and also urban people. Volunteer’s roles can range from observational to basic assistance, depending on their level of knowledge. Volunteers will be working with doctors, spending time in various departments of a busy hospital like gynecology, neurology, orthopedics, obstetrics, pediatrics and surgery. Medical volunteers and Interns must have the proof of qualification as a health professional, medical student, doctor or nurse.

The placement is organized in such a way that Volunteers and Interns will have the opportunity to gain experience in all department/units in local hospitals/clinics. Students of all academic backgrounds and interests are typically welcomed to volunteer as a medical intern in Kenya because there are generally no prerequisite courses or experiences. Volunteers who are high school or college students, who want to become doctors, are on the pre-med undergraduate track, are in medical school or are taking a glide year before starting medical school might be particularly interested in doing a medical internship in Kenya.

A staff will do orientation to all volunteers in the first day.
