Human Rights & Legal Aid Supporter

Volunteer to do tasks like lobbying, researching, provision of legal aid and justice distribution.

About The Program

The program is designed to expose law/political science/international development and co-operation undergraduates and MBA students an opportunity to work in the fields of sustainable development, politics and political parties, good governance in public institutions, government ministries, corruption and its costs and effects to the economy, human rights abuse – torture, extra judicial killings, election violence, conflict resolution and management  for warring communities due to land and water, domestic violence, provision of legal aid, youth in decision making process (Politics, Socio-economic spheres)

Volunteer task will be follow up of cases at the court, writing reports and talking to some of the victims
Volunteer will be involved in providing civic education on various themes(voter education, rights of a person when arrested)
Field visits to train communities on conflict management, training local authorities on good governance, and proper use of Public resources
Providing legal advice to people who cannot afford legal services 


Individuals and communities are free and able to exercise their rights and guaranteed dignity.

Program Requirements

In order to join the program you need to be at least 21 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s).
Language Skills
You need to speak English (fluently)
Education Requirements
Law, Human rights, Conflict, Governance, Corruption, International co-operation and development at University level
Required Documents
CV, College transcripts and Motivation letter

Time Commitment
Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 08:00 - 16:00

Free-time activities

Volunteers can do a number of activities when free like travelling, learning Swahili, Safari, scuba diving, visiting cultural centers, mountain climbing and visiting the beach.

Average fees

You can volunteer at the project site in Nairobi/Kenya between 2 weeks and 8 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. Pamoja International will let you know about the final price during your application process.
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Pamoja International during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
