HINT's primary work revolves around IT training and supplying tech to schools. We are looking for volunteers to provide tech support and/or teach.
Helps International has partnered with Computers 4 Africa in the UK to import refurbished computers and other technical hardware into Cameroon. HINT sells many of these computers to furnish computer labs in primary schools. Other computers are sold to individuals out of HINT's office, where we also operate a cyber cafe. In addition to providing access to technology, it is part of HINT's mission to train individuals in how to best use such technology. As a result, HINT also runs training programs for both adults and children. These programs can take place at the HINT office or at partner locations. Classes range from basic (internet and email use) to advanced (CSS, Java, web design) topics.
We are looking for volunteers who would be interested in working with our computer programs. Volunteers can support HINT in a technical position (working in the office, installing computers in schools, providing maintenance at schools) or by teaching computer skills to those in need. We are also happy to work with volunteers to develop programs specific to their personal needs, backgrounds, and education.
