Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Gain valuable marketing experience working with an international NGO while gaining transferable skills and experiencing life in beautiful Itacaré.

About ETIV

ETIV do Brasil is located in the beautiful fishing and surfing town of Itacare, Bahia. Our mission is to connect international travellers with meaningful volunteer opportunities to support environmental conservation and development in Brazil. We also provide stunning eco-adventure tours in and around Itacare as well as cultural education classes including Portuguese, Samba and/or Capoeira classes at a very affordable cost.

ETIV Coordinator Positions

We are looking for a skilled marketing and communications volunteer that will be able to take the lead on marketing our organization and volunteer opportunities on a variety of social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, travel forums and in a variety of recruitment websites and social media sites. We are also looking for someone that can help us manage, improve and update our website. Finally, and if time permits, we would like support with creating a newsletter and the initial framework for the written and descriptive portion of our annual report. Knowledge about Google Ad Words and Search Engine Optimization is also highly desirable. At least one-month commitment to volunteer is required for this position, while 3 to 6 months is preferred. Portuguese is not a requirement for this position, but we highly recommend that all volunteers begin to learn at least basic Portuguese, as most people in Bahia do not speak English.

Our Coordinator positions are our most advanced volunteer positions, which require the greatest amount of responsibility from volunteers as well as strong leadership skills. These positions are only suitable for more experienced volunteers who are looking to coordinate and manage one of our projects. In this position, volunteers will receive supervision from the director, but will be expected to be creative self-starters, who can take initiative and solve problems without anyone micro-managing the work. In addition, our coordinators will be expected to help recruit, manage and support other volunteers and community leaders that are supporting the same project the volunteer is coordinating for ETIV.
