Maternal Health Promoter

Join our team in Juba South Sudan and empower communities to reduce maternal mortality using the rights based approach

The maternal Health project is looking for volunteer s to join our team in Juba South Sudan. The Maternal Health Project  aims at reducing maternal death using the rights based approach. The program is running in a rural area. Among the activities performed include, conducting public meetings with the community members and local leaders, train TBAs, radio talk shows, distribution of IEC materials and meeting with CSOs.  

The applicant must also be able to pay for his or her travel fair as well as accommodation and living allowances. The organization will only contribute in special cases.

At the end of a successful volunteer placement at IHO, you will be awarded a certificate of volunteering to appreciate the voluntary service offered.

Typical day

The volunteer tasks include among others;

  • Attending and participating in awareness meetings
  • Developing work plans and writing reports
  • Mobilize additional resources to buy mama kits and mosquito net to compliment the project.
  • Mobilize resource for other organization activities by linking the organization to other potential donors
  • Participate in any other organization activities

Program Requirements

Minimum Age
In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s).
Language Skills
You need to speak English (basic level) and Arabic (basic level)

Nationality Restrictions
No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.
Time Commitment
Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 08:30 - 16:30

Free-time activities

South Sudan has a vast number of areas the volunteer would enjoy spending time. this includes visiting river Nile which passes in the middle of juba, enjoy swimming from at choosen places, culture including food, visiting Nimule tourism center etc.
