Medical Assistant for Local Clinics

Medical Doctors, Nurses, Community Health Educators, and Students are urgently needed to volunteer in our community clinics in Ghana.

 The current project focuses on improving referral services, prevention of disease like malaria, improved quality of health services, strengthening community capacity, maternal and reproductive health services, and hygiene education. The local clinic serves about 150 patients a day.

Under the guidance of residence  nurses and care takers, volunteers will take over various tasks in the areas of their expert. For all interns and volunteers that will be assigned to the clinic, an individual work plan is created so that you know exactly which your tasks are and this is also how optimal care can be guaranteed. Previous experiences are an advantage but not a requirement. You bold steps to come and help improve the health condition of our rural poor will have a great impact.

To work in the hospital you should be vaccinated against all major diseases.

Program Requirements

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s). Of course, there is an exception for children that are accompanied by their parents.

Free-time activities

During free time volunteers can swim there many nice beaches in Ghana or relax at the volunteer house. Volunteers schedule activities to do with friends or some of our team members weekends and this include: swimming, arts and crafts, baking, games, treasure hunts, quizzes, sports, fishing etc. Volunteers enjoy weekend off.

Average fees

You can volunteer at the project site in Accra/Ghana between 2 weeks and 8 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. World Partners of Developement will let you know about the final price during your application process.
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with World Partners of Developement during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
