Medical Support in Local Hospital

New Delhi, India show on map

Gain highly valuable international experience into how the healthcare system runs in the developing world.

Are you currently studying medicine, nursing, dentistry or physiotherapy? If so, this programme is ideal for gaining practical, varied and an in-depth insight that will provide a greater understanding and appreciation of the challenges faced here.

Not only will this experience provide insights into new techniques where you can learn from the local staff, but it will help to boost your C.V. and clearly distinguish you amongst your peers, giving you an invaluable edge for your future career.

Based within a large modern and well-equipped hospital (with over 150 beds) in South Delhi, you will be in close proximity to some of the best areas and markets in the city – with some volunteers calling Delhi the most exciting city in the world!

During your time in the hospital, you will be assigned to a specific doctor / nurse where you will get to learn, observe and even provide basic assistance. You have the opportunity to work in a range of departments where we can tailor your rota to suit your particular fields of interest.

Typical tasks might include assisting with administering vaccinations, shadowing doctors on surgeries and carrying out patient check-ups.

Located in the heart of the capital city, Delhi, you will have the opportunity to explore this beautiful city that has a rich historical and cultural background. There are several major tourist attractions nearby like Red Ford, Lotus Temple, Qutab Minar, Lodhi Gardens and more as well as local markets, restaurants, nightclubs, shopping centres and cultural heritage sites to experience.

Typically working 5 days a week, Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 16:00, you will leave with a true understanding of life as a medical professional in India.
