Natural Horsemanship Holiday

Travel to Costa Rica! Learn Natural Horsemanship, get Spanish lessons and give back to the locals at the same time! Make your travel meaningful!

The Holiday Student Programme is designed for natural horsemanship interested people, who want to combine an unique, inspiring learning and traveling experience with an unforgettable time in Costa Rica.

As a holiday student you will be part of our team and learn Natural Horsemanship as well as enjoy tours and trails and meet many new people from around the world. This is a great opportunity to learn new things to take home and experience real Costa Rica. On top the Holiday Student Program has founded a charity project to support locals in training their horses as well as takin on rescues. We also teach english in the local school. 

There is a wide range of activities you can get busy while beeing on our farm. After our meeting students can choose their activities from the following areas:

  • natural horsemanship training (5 sessions per week!
  • trail rides
  • tours and activities in the region
  • local festivities 

The farm is operated by a german-nicaraguan family that loves the pura vida lifestyle. Isa is a professional Natural Horsemanship trainer, working and riding horses all her live and beeing very fortune to make her passion her live and study together with great horseman like Silke Vallentin and Kerri April. Milton has grown up on a horse farm in Nicaraguas deep jungle. He is an absolut handyman and knows how to build from scatch petty much everthing from furniture to houses using bamboo and wood. 

You will be living on site in a shared apartment. Volunteers have their own kittchen and prepare their food together. Also their is a libary, study room, big living rooms, jungle terrace with hammoks, big botanical gardens, greenhouse, pool, and loads of jungle mountains around. The farm is located on the edge of a small village called Atirro, where there is a little shop and soda. From here you can take a bus to Turrialba.

Typical day

After a full hearty breakfast in the morning we will had to the barn to feed and groom the horses. Then we start with the training where you recieve a group session natural horsemanship wih your project horse. After lunchbreak we will eather head out on a trail, learn more in a theory lesson or discover Costa Ricas culture at one of the various tours that are offered (like kayak, sugar mill, coffeetour, river swim, jungle tour etc.) 

We enjoy a healthy dinner together with local fruits and veggies.

In order to join the program you need to be at least 16 years old on the program start date.

No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.
Time Commitment
Your helping hand will be required on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday

You can volunteer at the project site in Turrialba/Costa Rica between 1 week and 3 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. Aventura Doma Natural will let you know about the final price during your application process.
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Aventura Doma Natural during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
