Impact And Tasks

The program is two tier.

First we are looking for volunteers with health care experience and background in nursing, physical, speech and occupational therapy.

Secondly, our medical program is practicable, affordable and unique basing by the learning experience and satisfaction of past participants. This program is suited to aspiring medical students. The important element is that one needs to have a keen interest in the medical profession and be actively working towards joining medical school. Academic qualifications for admission to our program will vary based on school system of your respective country. Our program provides real life exposure of what it means to be a doctor, which is critically important for someone contemplating a medical career.

The participants will be working/volunteering in a Government hospital, as for the students they will be learning under consultants or Doctors, mostly observing and working under supervision of the Doctor.
Students will be rotated in the various departments to get a real life exposure.
Nurses and therapists (Physical,Speech and Occupational) therapy will be working in the EMT, pediatric, Maternity wing among other departments.

Provision of public health information

Healthy Citizen through better health services

Vaccination enabled citizens safeguarded from diseases

Free-time activities

Volunteers can do a number of activities when free like travelling, learning Swahili, Safari, scuba diving, visiting cultural centers, mountain climbing and visiting the beach.

Airport Pickup

30 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive by public transport.
Bathroom with shower and toilet.
Volunteer shares a bedroom with 1 other volunteer, own bedding sheet, pillow and Mosquito net.

Food & Beverages

Breakfast and Dinner.
Local Kenyan food served and vegetarian meal can be organized on request.
Food is balanced diet.
Water is boiled the stored in a container for volunteer consumption, alternative volunteers buy their won bottled water.

You can volunteer at the project site in Kisumu/Kenya between 2 weeks and 8 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. Pamoja International will tell you your final price during your application process.
Average Fees
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Pamoja International during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
