Perma Culture & Bio Gardening

We want to create a perma culture / bio vegetables and herbs garden in our castle garden. Experienced gardeners / perma culture experts or a garden lovers welcomed :-)

We want to start planting vegetables and herbs in our garden. We are looking for an experienced gardener / perma culture expert or a person loving to grow BIO food.

Professional gardeners, landscapers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, bricklayers, roofers, plaster specialists and handymen/women are also encouraged to apply!

We appreciate everyone who has helped us so far, especially in terms of active cooperation in any form, because this project thrives off of that sense of support for each other. And as the times are changing once again, we are quite confident that we can continue to connect with like-minded people and have a great time.

At the end of the stay, you will get a certificate stating the successful accomplishment of the programm including all activites you were practising and got experienced in. You can use this certificate as a document of reference for your next activities / employment.

Suitable for


Typical day

6 to 7 am Yoga / Meditatation / Singing
7 to 8 am Breakfast
8 am to 2 pm Working in the garden & related tasks
2 pm Lunch
Afternoon + Evening Free time :-)

Time Commitment
Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 - 14:00

Free-time activities

In your free time, you can continue with yoga, meditation, self-development, therapy. You can rest in the beautiful castle garden and park or walk around the picturesque nature around the Schochwitz village.
There is lake nearby (20 min on a bike), where you can enjoy water activites.
You can take a bike and explore the surroundings.
You can also visit Halle (Saale) and all the museums / cultural places.

What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.

No worries, Volunteer World supports you in raising funds, checking your visa regulations and travel insurance. We also assist you in finding the cheapest flights for your journey.

You share a dormitory and a bathroom with all the volunteers.

All food is vegetarian (no meat is eaten in the castle).

Generally, volunteering abroad involves certain costs. In case you need financial support, we will assist you to fundraise your volunteer program in Germany.

The nearest airport is Halle (LEJ) in Leipzig-Halle. We assist you to find cheap flights to Germany.
Travel Insurance
