Prevent Gender Based Violence

The project is to build the capacity of 200 girls on Sexual reproductive health & increase capacity to prevent & respond to Gender Based Violence GBV

Gender-based violence and HIV/AIDS are also inextricably linked. The experience of violence affects the risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) directly when it interferes with women’s ability to negotiate condom use. Fear of violence not only hinders women’s ability to propose condom use but may also keep them from voluntary HIV/AIDS counseling and testing. Furthermore, women may be at risk of violence after disclosing their HIV status to their partner thus, the sheer magnitude of violence and its consequences justify the need for greater investment in this area.To contribute to girls empowerment through the reduction of Gender inequalities and Gender-based violence in the South west region of Cameroon. To increase Girls’ awareness on the legal instruments and laws related to Gender-based violence in Cameroon,To improve youth knowledge on types and extent of gender based violence and its consequences. To empower women with information on available services providers for response to gender based violence. To develop adolescents skills in for improved health, team spirit and self-confidence.
