A counselor provides emotional, mental, and professional support to students, and guides them through steps to promote their positive behavior.

Primary Purpose:

1) Responsibilities:  

Activities are likely to include some or all of the following:

-        Assist in developing, delivering, evaluating and revising the school counseling program.

-        Assist students in the areas of academic, social, behavioral, and emotional development as well in career awareness.

-        Provide individual and small group counseling in a variety of settings.

-        Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff and parents in understanding and meeting the needs of students in the school setting.

-        Provide in-service training and make presentations to staff

-        Make appropriate referrals of students and parents to outside agencies.

-        Participate in activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school.

-        Monitor and advice students of their progress and provide on-going communication with parents

-        In collaboration with teachers, parents, and staff, prepare students for transition to the next levels.

The indicated price is for students. Working people or retired people have to pay a little bit more. All the above prices include all meals, accommodation, internet, transport fares from the airport on arrival and back to the airport on departure. A trip to any tourist site in Uganda can be arranged.
What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.

Airport Pickup

All local transportation for project is catered for including airport pickups and drop offs up on departure.

Accommodation

Eloi Ministries has a good banglow building which has great accommodation facilities, strategically located with easy access to Kampala city centre which renders it secure and accessible. The house is self contained, with WiFi internet, small shared rooms of two to three occupants, cable TV, CCTV CAMERA Surveillance, warm showers and electricity for lighting and ironing in a family setting among other amenities.

You can volunteer at the project site in Kampala/Uganda between 4 weeks and 50 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. Eloi Ministries will tell you your final price during your application process.
Average Fees

Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Eloi Ministries during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
