Social Media & Promotional Agent

Build a network of partners in the region, manage social media channels and create promotional tools. Volunteers will also help to manage our crowdfunding campaign.

About the Program

If you chose Communication as your main professional activity in life and that you would like to, like me, do something meaningful with it then this program is for you !

The program is going through its beginnings and there are so many things to do that I promise you will never be bored.

What makes this program attractive is that this program is exciting for people who would like to spend time working for a beautiful community of people who give so much without asking anything in return.

This program is about finding the best channels and tools to show people exactly what we are doing here, why and how.

The core goal of the global program is to offer to both volunteers/travelers and local people a way to connect and exchange life skills. What makes this program so important is that it's about building bridges between two very different cultures in a very respectful and objective way.

Specialists in communication will realize where the challenge is when they join the program, it is about finding the right communication strategy around the program to implement a strong notoriety in the region to allow us to protect the people, their culture and the environment.

The program offers to the villagers an improvement of their village and life conditions with a small financial support and work force from volunteers.

The role of the volunteer will be to assist me in my running programs or the volunteer has any particular skills can work in autonomy. The only important idea to catch in this program is to be sure to understand what is at stake here.

I am currently working on a crowdfunding campaign that aims to raise funds to make the road to the village easier to access (rocky land intense road), buy furniture (english books, teaching material) for the primary school in the village, buy tools and seeds for the community garden (which is at the disposal of every villager in need) and many more..

You will be working either in the village to shoot videos, photos or in the city in our house to work with internet access. It is a quite small city called Vi Xuyen, 20km before Hà Giang. It is safe and you can find pretty much anything you need.

What I expect of a volunteer for this program is to really sense what we are trying to do and be as involved as we are. Of course, having experience in communication and social media is an advantage.

I am in need of technical video shooting skills, as photography skills and designing.

Typical day

The role of the volunteer will be to assist me in my running programs or the volunteer has any particular skills can work in autonomy. The only important idea to catch in this program is to be sure to understand what is at stake here.

This volunteer program will not have a specific schedule as we will be working together and that every day will be a very different day from the one before ! If the volunteer has video shooting skills we will also take the road to make a video about our motorbike road trip in Hà Giang.

I wish that the volunteers work at least 3 or 4 hours in the day with me.

Free-time activities

Located 320km to the north of Hanoi on the border with China, In many traveler’s eye, Ha Giang is the most attractive destination in the country, with the rocky plateau at Dong Van, the love market at Khau Vai, Heaven's Gate over the Quan Ba Pass and the friendly, colourful ethnic groups.

Ha Giang province is the last to open to tourism and offers some of the most striking sceneries in Vietnam. Virgin forests, natural fortress mountains sculpted into terraces, rock formations plateaus split by breathtaking canyons. These majestic landscapes shelter the largest diversity of ethnic minorities in Vietnam. Pure landscapes and cultures have been implemented a long time ago which eases the discovery of the real life and natural landscapes of Ethnic minorities in Ha Giang like H'mong people or Tay people. The area does not feel at all “touristy”. In that way it is entirely unlike Sapa. There is also virtually nothing to buy and no one is selling anything to tourists (unlike Sapa). We are highly recommended and please visit it before it becomes too popular! Every corner of the province is worth spending time to visit.

It is time to be a real motorbike diver if you want and it is time to get experience on two wheels first hand, get along small, windy and snaking roads in the mountains, where a beautiful region, full of legends awaits you.

The most famous rocky area of Ha Giang is Dong Van Rock Plateau, which is recognized by UNESCO as one of 77 geological parks in the world. Lung Cu hamlet lying inside Dong Van Rock Plateau is another indispensible destination as it marks the very northern tip of Vietnam by Lung Cu Flag Tower on Dragon Mountain.

Not only that, Ha Giang is a venue of fanciful natural caves such as Phuong Thien Cave, Chui Cave, Fairy Cave and Swallow Cave. Although all the caves offer wonderful scenery with fantastic shapes of stalactites, each one has its own story and traits. For example, legend says that fairies used to bathe in Fairy Stream inside Fairy Cave which is the source of its name.

Ha Giang is also well-known for its magnificent forests in which there are more than 1,000 species of different wood, drug trees as well rare animals like tigers, peacock or pangolin.
