Social Teaching Assistance

Danang, Viet Nam

Are you willing to give a hand of help to children in need?

If you want to travel responsibly and volunteer in Danang, Vietnam is a good choice for you. It’s the best place in Vietnam to enjoy wonderful weather and picturesque landscapes. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to help local children living in the poorest part in Danang city, by providing English lessons. By staying with a host family, you will have the chance to experience authentic Vietnamese culture and tradition and gain a deeper understanding of daily life activities. You can also give English lessons to the children, which means a lot to them. You may change poor children lives through better education . On the other hand, you are staying in a green city in Vietnam with sparkling white sandy beach and the beautiful Han River.

What does this project do?

The project supports and empowers orphaned and impoverished children through art and education program. This project believes that the project can provide opportunities and encouragement to disadvantaged children, as well as offer the gift of expression to many creative young minds. Art classes are all included in the programs. Volunteers can get involved in any of these programs or propose their own.
This project is to help disadvantaged children realize their right to pursue an education. Volunteers will regularly visit families who are either being considered for a sponsorship or have already been admitted into the program. These follow-up visits are meant to help monitor their progress. You will also take part in weekly workshops for children, holding discussions on various topics related to life skills.

About the school

The Centre for Orphaned Children is located in Danang,Vietnam. This is a project supported by the local community and volunteers. In the School there is one main room with two teachers,  and one nanny running 5 classes from grade 1st to 5th. In total, there are 60 pupils. The children here almost come from poor families with no parents, or parents who work far from home or doing hard physical work. Studying in this school, the pupils follow the compulsory basic program for primary school. However, due to the lack of teachers, they are taught mainly maths and literature. They are provided with old textbooks, notebooks and other stationery for free by the donation of different NGOs, charity groups or volunteer clubs.
Local and international volunteers are needed to provide orphaned and impoverished children with a basic education. This will be done through educational lessons via games and activities created by the volunteer. Volunteers are desperately needed to act as teachers assistants and organize lectures for the students. You will work cooperatively to create educational programs which include both Vietnamese and English subjects. We wish to improve the level of education and their access to knowledge for the children in the hope that they can lead better lives and be integrated into the community. The center is the only hope that they have for a better life.
