Support Teenage Mothers

We are looking forward to have volunteers who can help in skilling teenage mothers and vulnerable youth to attain vocational skills.

Much like the rest of the country Uganda, Kamuli district faces a high level of early pregnancies, which not only poses a significant threat to the communities where young mothers live, but the country at large. In kamuli and neighbouring districts, many of the teenage mothers are seen around the community moving out with married men leading them to health risks, some of them are turning into prostitution.

This therefore calls for urgent action to keep the idle unemployed teenage mothers busy with something enterprising.

Though lack of education is not the biggest obstacle to teenage mothers employment, in Uganda, it is one of the factors, due to a mismatch of needed hand on skills experience.

With support of volunteers to pave a way of empowering these teenagers with vocational training and skills in the form of tailoring, business entrepreneurship and life skills training.

  • Training youth with vocational skills
  • Empowering them with behavior change skills
  • Business and entrepreneurship skills
  • Health care knowledge for themselves and their little children
  • Other skills as identified by participants.

Basing on this we call upon all persons interested in volunteering and interning with DIP Uganda to join us in this cause.
