Community development has gained importance in Kenyan society by enhancing the involvement of community members in sustainable agricultural practices.

Community development initiatives have gained importance in the Kenyan society by enhancing the involvement of community members in the development process especially the development of sustainable agricultural practices, at the same time utilizing the skills and energies available to promote product development hence bettering the lives of the local people. Hence the involvement of volunteers offers an opportunity to develop the potential of these initiatives at the same time developing that capacity of community groups towards realizing their laid down goals.

The CBO has activities running on daily basis and mainly farm work which has committed and well skilled members. The CBO has 31 members of which 24 female 7 male. The project aims at striving for healthy living. The project was initiated due to high poverty within our community and increased deaths due to Aids and Malaria.

 Vision: To alleviate poverty and hunger through agricultural activities.

Mission: Initiate and encourage income generating activities by empowering women, men and the youth to acquire agricultural modern skills and creating awareness in the field of HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

They plant soya and produce soya product added value

Free-time activities

Volunteers can choose to arrange for a safari tour in one of the parks around or have community home visits that will enable you learn more of the local culture and language. In case volunteers choose to go for a safari we shall be at hand to assist in the arrangements

Airport Pickup

Volunteers will be picked up at the airport upon arrival and directed to the accommodation awaiting the orientation before placement to the project. One of the staff members will be at the airport with a pager displaying your name on it hence it will be easy for you to identify the person.


In most cases all our volunteers are accommodated by host families to enable them be integrated faster in the local community. In the accommodation bathrooms, toilets and kitchen will be provided.

Food & Beverages

Volunteers will have food together with the host family. You will be provided with three meals a day and in case you are a vegetarian or allergic to any foods please let us know in advance so that we can alert the family during our project preparation.

You can volunteer at the project site in Nairobi/Kenya between 4 weeks and 25 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. VACK jitolee Africa will tell you your final price during your application process.
Average Fees
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with VACK jitolee Africa during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
