Teaching Assistant

Supplementing the knowledge base and skills set the young workers need for their future, including Basic English lessons or activities.

Dong Anh, Me Linh, Soc Son and Gia Lam are four districts on the outskirts of Hanoi. The area is in the process of urbanization, and the establishment of Bac Thang Long, Quang Minh and Noi Bai Industrial Park has led to mass migration into the area from nearby rural provinces. Indeed, magrant workers account for more than half the total number of immigrants in these districts.

Worker and Student project
Most of these people are farmers with very low income. Their lives and livelihoods are at rick from natural disaster such as flooding, drought and disease. Land for agriculture has become smaller due to the goverment's zoning regulations and plans for news building, and population increase. Due to the lack of education and special skills, migrants have to work extremely hard with very little increase in income. This situation can be improved if their English level and career skills can be betteredIn order to give these youth workers the supplemental knowledge and skills needed for their future. CVTD has implemented an education program. The program aims to provide the youth worker with basic English lessons and other extra activities including travel, music and physical activities during their leisure time.

School project
In the outskirts of Hanoi, it is not unusual for parents to financially struggle with sending their children to school. Hence, many children not only lack fundamental knowledge but many other life skills. English also appears to be beyond their capabilities.
With the purpose of helping these disadvantaged children supplement their knowledge and other skills needed for their future, CVTD offers a Blended Learning educational program in local schools. This is than just a opportunity to Teach English in Vietnam, but is far more immersive experience for both volunteers and students. Project includes providing basic English lessons and helping with extracurricular activities like drawing music and physical activities.
