Teaching Assistant & Lesson Planner

Develop your passion for teaching. Learn about another country's curriculum, plan and deliver lessons and provide one-on-one support to students.

Working with children is always a rewarding experience, and with V2 you will be providing much needed assistance and support to children who are often overlooked.  This volunteering placement is a fantastic chance to learn about another country's education system, whilst sharing your own knowledge and experiences with the partner organisation and working together to ensure a better future for the local children.

Our teaching assistant program is ideal for qualified teachers, trainee teachers or just those who are interested in education to develop their passion for teaching and gain international work experience.  You will gain an in-depth understanding of the Tobagonian curriculum and the teaching methods that are popular here.  You will assist with lesson planning and delivery and provide one-on-one support to students, whilst building rewarding relationships with the students and the local teachers.

Free-time activities

V2 organises trips that showcase the best of Tobagonian culture. Volunteers trek through the island's lush tropical rainforest, explore the spectacular Buccoo Bay coral reef, and can take a relaxing dip in Nylon Pool, amongst other options. We are always on the look out for new trips and excursions and we are open to suggestions from volunteers. We can also help volunteers organise solo trips, if they wish.

Water Sports


What's included?
Fees include accommodation, meals, and in-country transportation, as well as tours and leisure activities. It also covers 24 hour support from the V2 team on the island, pre-departure webinars and full orientation when you arrive, a mobile phone to use during your stay and a recommendation letter that can be used to support future job or college applications.
What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.

No worries, Volunteer World supports you in raising funds, checking your visa regulations and travel insurance. We also assist you in finding the cheapest flights for your journey.
Airport Pickup

We provide airport transfers. Once you have confirmed your booking with us and booked your flights, let us know when you arrive and we will make sure that one of our team are there to greet you in a bright green V2 t-shirt!


We house our volunteers in carefully selected guesthouses or with local families who have been fully vetted for safety and comfort. All of our accommodations have internet, so that you can keep in touch with loved ones back home.

We provide fresh, homemade breakfasts and dinners everyday as part of the price. We do not provide lunch but there are plenty of inexpensive options in the area, and we make sure to provide you with snacks. We can cater to any dietary requirements, including vegetarian and vegan, and any allergies or religious requirements.

You can volunteer at the project site in Buccoo/Trinidad and Tobago between 1 weeks and 8 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. V2 Volunteer & Vacation will tell you your final price during your application process.
Average Fees
Deposit (20%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (80%)
Your final payment must be made up to 30 days before to the volunteer program starts. This payment is also securely handled by PayPal or credit card.
