We are an organization that
helps with educational programs in our community because most of our population
do not have the economic resources to be able to study.
Our program provides English lessons to 1000 children enrolled in a public school from Trujillo.
The english teaching program has the objectives of promoting multiculturalism and developing a global dimension within the children’s education. This is facilitated by our English teachers - a dedicated team of international volunteers, many of whom are native English speakers. These English classes are designed to foster the self-esteem and creativity of students, offering a safe space for self-expression through participation and dynamic activities.
Furthermore, our eEnglish program also aims to give the children and teenagers of Florencia de Mora the ability to communicate in another language, which not only opens doors to other cultures but can also increase job opportunities in many careers where understanding a foreign language is a real asset.
This volunteer position is appropriate for those who are new to teaching English and need support and training to plan their lessons, as well as those with more teaching experience. You will teach children aged between 4 and 12 years old in local public school.
We are here to do something that no one thinks can be done if you are willing to walk through the process of change and growth and to really care more about this group of kids than you do your own comfort zone...
Assistant teaching English program:
We take a dynamic approach to teaching the children and so lessons are activity-based and interactive.
There are lots of games and songs to keep the children engaged so they can enjoy learning in a fun environment.
These methods differ greatly from those usually used in Peru and it is extremely rewarding
to see the children keen to study English and learn more.
- Giving english classes to the kids (focusing on grammar and pronunciation)
- Working hours: flexible; Monday to Friday, 4 - 5 hours per day, all other time is free.
We offer the chance for university students to have an internship in teaching English to the children .
For those studying linguistics and/or ESL (or similar categories),
this would be a great opportunity to use what you have been taught in college or fulfill that internship elective.
For anybody who would like to have more teaching experience
(ex. for those who are studying to teach or studying other majors in college),
this would also be a great opportunity to get teaching experience.
Teaching English in a foreign country can give you more experience than you can imagine
(not only in the area of teaching English but also in other areas of life).
This opportunity can provide invaluable work experience which will help prepare the applicant
for future jobs in this field or other fields.
