Teaching English

Teaching English in a rural school on the beautiful Island of Palawan, The Philippines.

Volunteer at a rural school in the Philippines and this will be an experience that you will never forget, you will feel like a real member of the local community in no time at all. This will be a real cultural exchange, the children and local people will love hearing about your friends and family and lives back home, and you will learn a lot about their culture too. teach classes in your own style.

You will be encouraged to lead English classes  in a fun and engaging way, via music, drama, games and sports or any way you can think that will help to improve the children's confidence in speaking English. The students at the school are aged between 7 and 18 and you will have a chance to volunteer with the different groups. You will be joining the children's regular classes to be an extra support to the permanent staff, the classes will run in the day times, Monday - Friday.

This is a rural area of the The Philippines, where children do not always get taught English from a person who is confident themselves at speaking English, your presence will be immensely helpful in teaching both the children and helping the teachers to practise and perfect their skills. English is an important language in the Philippines as it is actually one of their official languages and if the children learn it well it will greatly improve their job prospects in the future.
