This program is about to provide education facilities in rural slums and villages near around Jaipur
About the Program
Many of the children in India are not able to attend school due to poverty. However there are Government Schools available in these regions but the level of education & school supplies is very low. Most of the time the schools in the villages are closed and the teachers who were appointed by government do not attend classes. Because of that children won't get the chance to achieve a good education level. Many of the families who live in backward or rural/slums areas have the mentality to involve their children in their personal work to earn for their livelihood. There are also private schools available in these areas but most of the children can't afford the school/tuition/stationery fees.
Volunteering with India's teaching project was established in 2007 with the aim and purpose to provide education facilities and to offer education for neglected children around Jaipur.
Mission of the Project
Our mission is to make education an interesting affair for children by offering several extracurricular activities like drama, sports too along with the basic teaching. The program also strives for decreasing the dropout rate by convincing parents to send their children to school.
Role of the Volunteer
You as a volunteer will be associated to a number of tasks. The schools in the rural areas have teachers appointed but sadly they are not well versed with the English language. Volunteers will be required to not only teach English and mathematics to the children but also to help teachers to improve their skills which will be helpful for them in the future. It will also be on the volunteers to introduce activities like dancing, music, games and painting. The teaching program offers you the opportunity to create a fun learning environment which will motivate children to join the classes regular. The focus is on helping children to develop their skills. The volunteers can also assists in other subjects like arts and science.

Host families are experienced in the realm of hosting international travellers for a least 10 years.
The accommodation and meals provided at the host family will be basic. You will be getting three meals per day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner), the very same food your host family themselves will be having, traditional but very nutritious. However if you are unable to adjust to food or need more nutrition/protein/special diet you can arrange your own meals from produce at the near local market.
