The center is not funded by the government and solely relies on volunteers and donations, due to its budget volunteers are crucial to its development in improving conditions for its animals. The center strives to conserve, protect, reintroduce, and raise several wild species that have been removed from their natural environment.

The centre was a winner of the Ford/Jaguar Cars International Conservation Award which meant it got more funding and grants in order to continue there work, the center also has an education programme which educates local people on the wildlife and how to protect it.

The center is home to around 500 animals with 100 of these able to roam free without being disturbed, there are more than 80 species of animals such as spiders, monkeys, tapirs, birds such as green macaws, various reptiles (snakes, crocodiles, iguanas, etc.) and different types of felines or big cats.
