WWOOF Togo is an togolese association that aim to promote organic faming and fight against poverty sustainably.

    1. Who we are?

We are an association called WWOOF Togo which represents the international WWOOF movement born in England in 1971 to promote organic farming in the world

     2. What we do?

Our first role is to connect volunteers (WWOOFers) in contact with farms that adopt biological techniques members of our network. We are also keeping track of the farmers and volunteers they are hosting to make sure everything is going well. We are executing projects for the benefit of poor farmers with the support of international organizations to help them out of poverty

   3.Where we work? 

Our organization is based in Togo in the city of Kpalimé, a country located in West Africa between Benin and Ghana. Togo has a population of about 8 million. It is a poor country and more than half of the population is young. The main economic activity of the population is agriculture (including livestock).

Togo is a peaceful country despite some political difficulties. It is a secure country and whose inhabitants have legends but real hospitality. It is a coastal country and it has the largest port of West Africa.

     4. Our history

Our story started in 2012 on the Danyi Mountains where we met our first members.We contacted WWOOF UK who supported us and the organization was created. Since WWOOF Togo has about 50 farmers and organizations that practices organic farming in respect of the environment. More than 100 volunteers have already visited our farms and we have kept memorable memories of their visit.

     5. Our mission/vision

The mission of WWOOF Togo is to promote organic farming in Togo and sustainable fight against poverty.

      6.Our goal 

is to allow the farmer of our network to have more visibility and to train themselves to meet the challenges of the practice of a healthy agriculture in the context of climate change and the increase of the population.

       7.Who are we looking for?

We will welcome everyone aged 18 and over of any nationality. We will share our knowledge and we will build friendly relations for a better world

 WWOOFIN  is an exchange - In return for volunteer help, WWOOF hosts offer food, accommodation and opportunities to learn about organic lifestyles. WWOOF organisations link people who want to volunteer on organic farms or smallholdings with people who are looking for volunteer help.The length of your stay at the farm is negotiated directly between you and your host. Most WWOOF visits are between one and two weeks, though some may be as short as two or three days or as long as six months.

  • I am at least 18 years old. (When I arrive at the farm)
  • I will ensure that I have adequate health, travel and liability insurance.
  • I understand that the function of WWOOF Togo is limited to facilitating the contact between me and the host of my choice.

Typical day

 Usually you live with your host and are expected to join in and cooperate with the day to day activities. In most countries the exchange is based on 4-6 hours help-fair exchange for a full day’s food and accommodation.

You may be asked to help with a variety of tasks like sowing seed, making compost, gardening, planting, cutting wood, weeding, harvesting, packing, milking, feeding, fencing, building strawbale houses, wine making, cheese making and bread making.

The first step of your WWOOFing experience is to choose  join the relevant WWOOF organization. once you registered yourself to this program you will be able to connect with our Farmer list and choice your host.You will plan your arrival with him. You will contact him by mail our telephone before coming.

If you are interested in alternative ways of living and want to meet interesting people then WWOOFing is for you!

Discovering nature and participation in cultural activities of the village and other surrounding village

Program Requirements

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

You need to speak English (basic level) and French (intermediate level)

WWOOF Togo (your host organization) provides consulting and is keen to answer all your questions. Once you reserved your spot, you will receive the contact details of your volunteer project.

Services by WWOOF Togo

Our program is free program. We received only a membership fee for one year avaibility. But you are free to help your host  when you arrive in his farm.

Airport Pickup at Lome Airport

Yes, you can arrange with your host aiport pick up 


You will be host in your farmer house or in his farm. You will live according his reality.

Guest Family
Food & Beverages

Yes your host will provide to you food. But note that it is not a food make for you especially. You will eat what your host eat and drink what he drink also.

What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Lome Airport (LFW) in Lome. We assist you to find cheap flights to Togo.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Togo provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Togo you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Togo.

Average fees

You can volunteer at the project site in Lome/Togo between 1 week and 50 weeks. Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated and subject to exchange rate fluctuations. WWOOF Togo will let you know about the final price during your application process.
Crowdfunding Service
Generally, volunteering abroad involves certain costs. In case you need financial support, we will assist you to fundraise your volunteer program in Togo.
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment must be made up to 30 days before to the volunteer program starts. This payment is also securely handled by PayPal or credit card.
