Take your passion for sports to the next level. Teach everything you know to young Ghanaians who want to learn and enjoy playing!

Participate in training sessions, organize matches with other clubs, and collaborate with other participants.  Local coaches will also be on hand on occasion to direct the coaching drills. Whatever your background or level of sport coaching knowledge, from enthusiastic beginner to licensed coach, we have a placement for you!

Many Ghanaian children are interested in sports. Football is probably the most popular of these, but many people enjoy anything that gets them running and jumping and keeps them competitive. This is where you come in!

You can use your passion for sports and knowledge of how each game is played to inspire local children to raise the bar and improve their performance.  There will be numerous opportunities to share your enthusiasm and efforts in a variety of sports, to assist local children in learning a completely new sport or improving in the sport they already enjoy playing.

Because equipment may be limited in some placement areas, you are welcome to bring any type of equipment or teaching aids that will aid in your coaching experience.

Elevate the quality of life for children by involving them in sports and facilitating their growth and progress. Let us aid in their development by fostering their skills through recreation and competitive physical activity. With our help, children can flourish into well-rounded individuals, both on and off the field. Specifically, this project aims to:

KAKUM PARK

Kakum National Park is a tropical rainforest located in the central region of Ghana. It is one of only three natural sites in the country that offers visitors a tree-top walkway known as the Kakum Canopy Walkway. Inside you can also find a tree house built in the treetops about 20 meters above the ground that offers visitors an adventurous opportunity to spend the night. 


The national park is home to numerous beautiful animals, many of which are endangered; among these you can find target monkeys, African elephants and more. 


ACCRA

It is the capital of Ghana and has much to offer art and history lovers, as there are many museums, galleries, libraries and monuments to explore. It is often recommended to visit the National Theater, National Museum, Christiansborg Castle, Jubilee House or Black Star Square.


The most popular beach in the city is Labadi Beach. Next to the beach you will also find the Academy of African Music and Arts.


ELMINA 

The city's main tourist attractions include Elmina Castle, Fort Coenraads burg, the Dutch cemetery and the fishing fleet. 


On the first Tuesday of every July, an annual festival called the Bakatue Festival is held in the city, celebrating the sea and the final culture. 


CAPE COAST

A city and port, located in the central region that offers its visitors 32 different festivals throughout the year. 


There is also the Cape Coast Castle and the Cape Coast National Cultural Center for visitors to explore.


KOKROBITE

A small town very close to the area where our volunteer projects take place. It is a popular tourist destination for its beautiful beaches and lively nightlife.


ADA FOAH

A small coastal town famous for its palm-fringed beaches and neighboring islands. Many locals and tourists also take advantage of the water sports activities offered by the town.

Minimum Age: 18 years

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

Other Skills

To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, specific measures have been established, especially concerning different age groups. Older participants must secure medical clearance as a precautionary step to confirm their physical capability for potentially demanding activities. For those under 18, a signed parental consent form is mandatory, ensuring parental or guardian awareness and approval of their involvement.

Accommodation

The accommodation is a volunteer house, totally secure. It is a closed house, with separate bedrooms by gender. Accompanied by local people every day. There is laundry, no wifi, no hot water. Bed linen is provided. The project is about 20-30 minutes away from the lodge.

3 meals a day are offered, breakfast, lunch and dinner. 2 in weeknd

If you arrive on Saturday, you need to book one extra night at our accommodation. (No pickup is included. Make your way to us, or arrange pickup at an extra cost.)

ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER is a non-profit organization, established in 2017. We collaborate in the social and environmental field through projects of conservation and protection of the environment and animals, as well as in the social part through projects of empowerment of women, community development, functional diversity, medical or teaching.


Our team of collaborators has a deep experience in international volunteer programs.  We know all the realities of the areas where we are working, collaborating and where we have a presence. 


Our projects offer volunteers the opportunity to meet, share and participate in social and environmental projects. These projects demand educational and recreational activities that benefit communities of different cultures and customs, communities with economic difficulties and different degrees of social exclusion.
