In October 2018, Mélissa, a french young woman decides to "drop everything" and go on an adventure to the other side of the world. Alone with her backpack, embarked on uncertain Asian paths, she lands in Laos and meets Sabou, a young Laotian, who has improvised a classroom in his living room in which he teaches English to children.
Mélissa, touched by Sabou's commitment, decides to put aside her travel plans and set down her luggage in Nong Khiaw in northern Laos. With the helps of locals and volunteers from around the world, she built a school to give free english classes to the students of this village. NK SEEDS was born.
NK SEEDS is a non-profit organization created in 2018 and based in Laos that develops international solidarity. The organization is active in two different fields: Education and Environment.
Our goals: to encourage cultural exchange between locals and foreign volunteers. While promoting awareness of ecology and environmental issues through the learning of English.
NK English School offers free English courses for children and adults in Nong Khiaw and its surroundings. The goal is to give the opportunity to have additional English lessons in a friendly and trustworthy environment. Where traditional learning is mixed with a set of activities that allow them to put their lessons into practice in a dynamic and fun way.
NK School for ALL develop our action in the surrounding villages by supporting all aspects or primary education including buildings and educational materials, sport equipment, food, etc.
NK Environment is raising awareness of environmental issues and implementing eco-responsible actions, such as collecting and sorting waste or recycling plastic and paper.
We try to raise children's awareness of environmental protection by implementing several activities and lessons.
The aim is to make children aware of the environment in a fun and educational way to motivate them to get involved!
To come aboard the ship "NK SEEDS" is to get involved in an educational project for the economic development of a territory respectful of its environment.
Come to Laos, stay in our bungalows and share your skills to help us develop the association. Be free to participate as you wish, whether it is in teaching, in the protection of the environment, by sharing your knowledge or your culture from around the world. You'll meet people from around the world and make new friends.
As a volunteer, you will join the both programs or choose only one according to your skills and experiences.
