Daycare & Nursery Support
Højdepunkter
- Work across several kinds of setting - day care centres, nurseries, after-school programmes and feeding centres - all serving children from Rabat's poorer neighbourhoods.
- Give the individual attention the staff cannot. These centres run on limited resources, and one adult per twenty children leaves very little room for the child who needs more.
- Bring a skill the children will remember: dancing, singing, painting, music, sport. Volunteers are explicitly asked to teach whatever they can actually do.
- Focus on early childhood development, basic education and social interaction - the things that give a child confidence and a stable routine.
- Live with a Moroccan host family with three meals a day, which gives you a view of Moroccan family life that a volunteer house never would.

Oplysninger ved ankomst
Start dates: weekly, year-round. Minimum stay four weeks on this programme.
Airport: Rabat-Salé (RBA) is closest. Many volunteers fly into Casablanca Mohammed V (CMN) instead, which has far more international routes and is about an hour from Rabat by train – the train runs from the airport terminal itself.
Please note: airport pickup is not included on the Morocco programmes. The team will send you clear directions to your host family before you travel, and can advise on transfers, but budget for getting from the airport yourself. This differs from most of our other destinations.
Background check: required for all adult participants before arrival, as with any placement involving children.
Visa: most nationalities enter Morocco visa-free as tourists for up to 90 days. Visa and visa extension fees are not included if your nationality does require one.
What to bring: art materials, picture books, stickers, simple instruments – anything light that a small child can use. It will be used every day and left behind when you go.
Ramadan: if your dates fall during Ramadan, the rhythm of the day changes significantly and some centres run reduced hours.
