Teach English to Children & Adults
Højdepunkter
- Teach children, teenagers and adults - this is not only a classroom placement, and the adult learners are often the most motivated people you will teach.
- Live with a Moroccan host family with three meals a day included, which is where most volunteers say the real learning happens.
- Work in local schools, community centres and educational institutions, alongside Moroccan teachers and other international volunteers.
- Support exam preparation, homework clubs and informal conversation practice, not just formal lessons - and summer camps during school holidays.
- Base yourself in Rabat, an easy hour from Casablanca and in reach of Fes, Marrakech, Chefchaouen and the Atlantic coast at weekends.

Om programmet
Teach English in Moroccan schools, community centres and adult classes, living with a host family in Rabat. No teaching qualification required - training is given.
Why English, and why here
English has become the language that opens doors in Morocco – to higher education, to international work, and to a job market that increasingly expects it. French still dominates formal education, but English is what students and young professionals are actively seeking ...
Typisk dag
Morning
Breakfast with your host family – bread, olive oil, jam, eggs, and mint tea. Then out to your placement, usually a short walk or a petit taxi ride.
Teaching
Your timetable depends on the placement. School classes run in the morning; community centre and adult classes are often later in the ...
Fritidsaktiviteter
You work weekdays, so evenings and every weekend are yours - and Rabat is one of the better-placed bases in Morocco for using them.
Rabat itself
The Kasbah of the Udayas, a blue-and-white walled quarter above the river mouth, is the obvious first afternoon, and the cafe on the walls looking out over ...

Oplysninger ved ankomst
Start dates: weekly, year-round.
Airport: Rabat-Salé (RBA) is closest. Many volunteers fly into Casablanca Mohammed V (CMN) instead, which has far more international routes and is about an hour from Rabat by train – the train runs frequently from the airport terminal itself and is straightforward.
Please note: airport pickup is not included on the Morocco programmes. The team will send you clear directions to your host family before you travel, and can advise on transfers, but budget for getting from the airport yourself. This differs from most of our other destinations, so plan for it.
Visa: most nationalities enter Morocco visa-free as tourists for up to 90 days. Visa and visa extension fees are not included if your nationality does require one, or if you stay beyond the permitted period.
What to expect: Morocco is a Muslim country and Rabat is relatively relaxed, but dressing modestly – shoulders and knees covered – will make your placement and daily life considerably easier, particularly for women.
Ramadan: if your dates fall during Ramadan, the rhythm of the day changes significantly and some placements run reduced hours. Worth factoring into when you come.
