BiblioWorks, Bolivia

3 Project reviews of BiblioWorks, Bolivia

Project Details

We promote education and literacy in communities in need. We build libraries to help the holistic and sustainable development of entire communities.

We believe that healthy communities require healthy minds. That's why we have been building libraries, supplying books and training librarians in the poorest communities of Bolivia since 2005. Our mission is to support local communities in their pursuit of sustainable development and we believe that reading and literacy lie at the heart of this.

Volunteers are crucial to everything that we do: they engage children and their families in the joys and importance of reading.

Social Impact

The various projects that we run, including reading clubs and English teaching in our libraries, as well as our Annual Festival of Reading and Sucre Reads have helped to reach thousands of children and families in and around Sucre. Our volunteers inspire children to recognise the possibilities that reading can offer them, as well as helping mothers and their families to be literate and able to engage in Bolivian society.
