Rural Nepalese families have been disproportionately affected by the current problems in Nepal, such as food shortages and poverty.
The main objective of this program is to help these families through these problems, so that all members of the community, from the youngest to the oldest, can have the best life possible.
Typically, these families grow crops such as rice, corn, wheat, potatoes, sugar cane, tobacco and cotton. They also raise animals such as cows, chickens, goats and buffalo. As a volunteer, you can expect to help these families grow crops and raise animals, both of which are very important factors in the lives of rural Nepalese families. If you have any specific knowledge in any of these areas, you can also pass it on to the villagers. In addition, you will also have the freedom to help the children of the community by teaching them English or other subjects, organizing educational games, singing, listening to music and generally sharing fun activities that could help these children develop their skills and further their education.
Some other specific activities that you may find yourself doing as a volunteer in this project are irrigating fields, harvesting crops, removing wil plants, fertilizing crops, caring for farm animals, supporting in the creation of handicrafts and any other activities that may arise. depending on the specific needs of the community at the time of your arrival.
