Rural Nepalese families have been disproportionately affected by current problems in Nepal, such as food shortages and poverty. The main goal of this program is supporting these families go through these problems, so that every member of the community, from the youngest to the eldest, can have as good of a life as possible.

Normally, these families grow crops like rice, corn, wheat, potatoes, sugarcane, tobacco, and cotton. They also raise animals like cows, chickens, goats, and buffalo. As a volunteer, you may expect to help these families in growing such crops and raising such animals, both very important factors in the life of rural Nepalese families. If you have any specific knowledge in any of these areas, you can also transmit it to the villagers. Additionally, you will also be free to help the children of the community by teaching them English or other subjects, organising didactic games, singing, listening to music, and in general sharing fun activities that could help these children develop their skills and further their education.

Some other specific activities you may find yourself doing as a volunteer in this project are irrigating the fields, harvesting crops, eliminating wild plants, fertilising crops, taking care of farm animals, support in the creation of handcrafts, and any other activity that might arise based on the specific needs of the community at your time of arrival.
