Help create a space for children to feel comfortable in, so that they can develop adequately, while also providing them with valuable life skills like English or French. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 18+

These solidarity camps main focus is supporting the sustainable and positive development of children from vulnerable or low-income backgrounds in the city of Ouarzazate, Morocco. The solidarity camps have proven to be a quite enriching experience for volunteers and children alike, as it provides a great opportunity for cultural exchange, and to form strong and long-lasting bonds between the volunteers and the children. These camps are essential in the reinforcement of values like solidarity or friendship within the youth and children of these vulnerable areas in Ouarzazate, and also in their empowerment, as it provides them valuable life skills (through workshops or classes).

Volunteers' main task is helping build a better environment for the children and youth attending the center, by carrying out educational and leisure activities, the former focused in supporting children through their school education and the latter focused in cultural exchange and solidarity. Some of the activities our volunteers collaborate with are teaching languages (English, Spanish, and French), artistic expression (drawing or music), physical education, didactic games, or other workshops designed by volunteers.

Additionally, volunteers may collaborate in the maintenance of the areas the children are in, so that they can feel as comfortable as possible.

Typical day

Our volunteers will work in the Ouarzazate area of Morocco, working on Weekdays (Monday through Friday) from 9:00 to 13:00. Weekends are free for volunteers to go discover everything Morocco has to offer them!

Free-time activities

Ouarzazate, the city you shall be staying in, is a magical place; constantly used by Hollywood as a filming spot due to its impressing landscapes, Ouarzazate also has a lot of culture, having a lot of historic sites and influences from many different groups within Morocco, as it is an important trading route between the North and South of Morocco. Some of the things that you can do during your stay in Ouarzazate are learning Arabic and then practising it at the city's Souks, visit the city's beautiful and historic Kasbahs (you cannot miss Kasbah Taourit!) , visit the desert, visit the mysterious Oasis near the city, and much more.

Additionally, you could go discover Marrakech, an attractive city filled with gardens, mosques, markets, and friendly locals; or Fez, one of Morocco's first imperial cities, rich in culture, tradition, and history.
