About the program

This program is designed to make the most out of education that is tailored to individuals with special needs. Volunteers in this program will be assisting and helping in the education of people with various mental and physical disabilities in the city of Jaipur.  A well-known Indian City, Jaipur is close to Dehli making it easy to get to and making transport to any destination in India quite accessible. Jaipur was established by the then Maharaja, Sawai Jai Singh in the year 1927.

Volunteer with children who are mentally and physically handicapped in a variety of areas like education, therapy, and care.
Vocational training is also available for volunteers that are handy in certain areas. The children are divided into groups according to the type of disability that they might have.

Volunteers are of great help by teaching children how to do day-to-day tasks like cooking, using household appliances, etc. This prepares them to transition into adulthood later on in life. Therapy is an important aspect of the special education volunteer program.

Volunteer Tasks:
  • Observation and record-keeping of each child.
  • Teaching basic subjects like math, shapes, colors, reading, and other subjects at a very basic level through games.
  • Help local staff in preparing meals.
  • Assist in arts and crafts classes.
  • Help organize and assist in field trips.
  • Playing with the children, with a focus on learning.
  • Help in specially designed sporting activities meant to make physical therapy fun.
Volunteer in India with INLEX and help children with disabilities get an education that is suited to their conditions.

About the project

Integrated Learning Experiences was founded in 2005 by former Peace Corps staff that wanted to provide flexible volunteer programs with a positive impact.

Meet your organization

Integrated Learning Experiences’ (INLEX) mission is to strengthen human resources in Central America and South America through volunteer programs, educational travel and internship opportunities.

In addition to this, INLEX provides opportunities for students and professionals to further gain experience in their field of choice by matching participants with the best opening available.

We work towards:

  • Sustainability in the projects and communities that we work in.
  • Programs that promote cultural exchange.
  • Safe and affordable programs.
  • Strengthening and empowering communities.
  • Authentic experiences for our participants.
  • Facilitating education.

INLEX was set founded by former Peace Corps staff in Guatemala in 2005 who wanted to provide flexible programs for volunteers in Central America. This flexibility allows our participants the option to commit for as long as they want in the area they are best suited to support; creating a positive impact and a rewarding experience. We do this because we believe in the principle that every volunteer can make a difference.

Many years and happy people later, we continue working with key partner projects to develop communities in the Latin American region.
