About the program

This volunteer program is open to trainees, nurses, medical students and medical professionals; anyone with a medical background is welcome.

Each volunteer will be able to put into practice what they have learned, under the guidance of local professionals, while making medical care accessible to local Nepalese communities who are currently in great need of help.

Through this volunteer experience, volunteers will gain unique and useful medical experience, such as learning to help with relatively basic equipment or experiencing firsthand how medical care works in third world countries. The experiential value of this program is especially high because each week of your stay, you will be able to stay in a different hospital room, allowing you to become familiar with how Nepalese hospitals operate.

Volunteers will be assigned tasks and placed according to their current skills. Throughout their entire experience, volunteers will work closely with local hospital staff and local doctors and nurse practitioners who will guide them through their program. Volunteers can expect to participate in tasks such as dressing wounds, supporting patient care, performing pressure, pulse and temperature checks, providing surgical assistance, performing medical examinations, and providing support to the local hospital medical team; these tasks will be assigned based on the specific skills the volunteer possesses.
  • In addition, volunteers can provide support in areas such as general medicine, emergency, ICU/CCU care department, surgery, outpatient, nursing, pediatrics, gynecology and dental services.

Typical day

Volunteers work on weekdays, approximately four to six hours per day. Weekends are free for volunteers to discover Nepal and enjoy the rich cultural heritage and landmarks it has to offer.

About the project

Support in the cooperation and creation of social and environmental projects in communities at risk of social exclusion, through international volunteering.

Meet your organization

ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER is a non-profit organization, established in 2017. We collaborate in the social and environmental field through projects of conservation and protection of the environment and animals, as well as in the social part through projects of empowerment of women, community development, functional diversity, medical or teaching.

Our team of collaborators has a deep experience in international volunteer programs.  We know all the realities of the areas where we are working, collaborating and where we have a presence.

Our projects offer volunteers the opportunity to meet, share and participate in social and environmental projects. These projects demand educational and recreational activities that benefit communities of different cultures and customs, communities with economic difficulties and different degrees of social exclusion.
