- Wo we are?

We are a community based non-governmental organisation that seeks to provide care and support to orphans and vulnerable children by providing them quality and affordable education as well as empowering their families with practical skills to enable them stand on their two feet. We are a faith driven organisation.

- What we do?

We run the following 5 main programs: (1) Community school for orphans and vulnerable children (2)Street outreach to children living on the streets (3) Community outreach to people living with HIV/AIDS (4) Skills training for youth and women and (5) Youth Adventure Camps!

- Where we work?

We work in the city of Kitwe, the Republic of Zambia. Zambia, is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, neighbouring the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Tanzania to the north-east, Malawi to the east, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia to the south, and Angola to the west. The capital city is Lusaka, in the south-central part of Zambia. The population is concentrated mainly around Lusaka in the south and the Copperbelt Province to the northwest, the core economic hubs of the country. Kitwe is the second largest city in terms of size and population in Zambia. With a population of 504,194 (2010 census provisional) Kitwe is one of the most developed commercial and industrial areas in the nation, alongside Ndola and Lusaka. It has a complex of mines on its north-western and western edges. Zambia is renowned as a doyen of peace in the region. Zambians are generally friendly people always ready to receive foreigners with a smile and of course the shaking of hands. Visitors to this peaceful country are always advised to boil their drinking water and sleep under mosquito nets if they are to avoid contracting diseases such as cholera and malaria respectively.

- Our history

Beautiful Gate Zambia was established in 2003 by Zambian couple, Bill and Thelma Kaping'a. Upon graduating from their discipleship training school (DTS) at Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Muizenberg, Cape Town the Kaping'as immediately joined Beautiful Gate South Africa. After serving as volunteers for a couple of months, the couple returned home to pioneer Beautiful Gate Zambia. Initially, the project operated from their two-bedroomed house in Ndeke Township, Kitwe. Two years later, funds were sourced to build a proper school at its current location in the outskirts of the Township and the rest as they say is history.
